Week of April 25th

What a beautiful weekend! I hope that you and your family were able to enjoy it. 
Last week was tremendous! Between Grandparents'/Special Friends' Day and the operetta, there was a lot going on. If you haven't already, take a second to look through all the pictures from that special day.
Although much of our time last week was spent preparing for the operetta, here's a look back at a few moments...
 I'm looking forward to having a fun, albeit ordinary week this week!

RELIGION
This week in religion we will learn more about why we need forgiveness and how the daily power of the Holy Spirit changes our lives. We will read about Saul's escape and Peter's rescue.
MEMORY WORK 
Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Act 2:38

SPELLING and GRAMMAR 
In spelling, students will work on identifying spelling patterns for words with -dge, -ge, -lge, -nge, -rge endings. In grammar we will discuss adjectives and use adjectives that tell what kind and how many. We will also review commas and many other grammar skills.

WRITING 
This week in writing, students will be preparing for our author celebration!! You will be receiving an invitation for the celebration this week. Just as a reminder, this event will be held directly following our class chapel on Wednesday, May 11th. Stay tuned!

SCIENCE 
Tying into Earth Day, this week we will discuss Earth's natural resources including land, air and water. We will also explore how people influence the quality of life of those around them, and how the activities of humans affect plants and animals in many ways.
