Welcome back to school!
I hope you all enjoyed the day off, and maybe even had a chance to play in the snow! My kids thought the snow made for the BEST Valentine's Day!
Also, thanks to everyone for such a wonderful, well-thought through Valentine's Day party! We sure are blessed by such exceptional families!
Here's a look back...
We also made Valentines for Tilda, our sponsor child in Uganda.
Thanks for remembering to save coins for our collection!
We will have ONE MORE collection in March.
We did a lot of VERB review this week.
Your second graders are experts!

Hopefully you each received a fun "special report" e-mail from your child about a storm or natural disaster last week. The children did such a great job researching, writing and reporting about their topics! Please let me know if you didn't get an e-mail, and I'll be sure to pass it along!
RELIGION
God shows his love for us by giving us a sign of Jesus' power. This week we will read about Jesus power over nature as He calms the storm, as well as His power and love that meets our physical and spiritual needs as He feeds the crowd. We will be reminded to turn to Him in prayer because He opens doors and guides us through each day.
MEMORY WORK
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and will not be afraid. Isaiah 12:2

SOCIAL STUDIES
SOCIAL STUDIES
Why do we celebrate President's Day in February? This week we will look back on two very important historical leaders; George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We will learn about them, compare and contrast their lives, and determine what made them such memorable presidents.
COUNTRY PROJECTS ARE DUE NEXT WEEK!!
I can't wait to see all the hard work that has been happening at home!
Please join us on Friday, February 26th from 12:30 to 1:30 during our "International Board Walk" (a display of everyone's county report) in the second grade hallway.
This will be a time for your child to talk about their country openly, share fun facts they learned, answer questions, and share food or music from their country.
Students will also be presenting in class. Here is a reminder of the order.
