It's Achievement Test Week!
The children are ready and prepared, and don't worry... there is no way to study at home. However, you can always help by encouraging your child to do their best during testing, providing a healthy breakfast, and getting your child to school on time.
We will have two sections of tests every morning except on Friday, when there will only be one. After testing we will prepare for our author celebration that is quickly approaching. Enjoy the week off of homework! Maybe do some extra reading with your child this week!
APRIL READING LOGS are due this week.
I forgot to mention this in my blog last week, so any day this week would be great. The May log will obviously be the last one for the year, but I STRONGLY encourage you to support your second grader by keeping them reading all summer! Summer is a wonderful time for children to read what they most enjoy, to learn new things, and to have fun with reading! Summer reading is also an important way to prevent kids from losing too much ground — research shows that summer reading can make a significant difference in a student's overall academic achievement, particularly when beginning a new school year. Continue to make reading a priority!
